Fish Oriental (2 servings)

Fish Oriental Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon butter or margarine

  • 2 tablespoon chopped onion

  • 3 slices boiled ham

  • 1 clove garlic minced

  • 1/2 cup bean sprouts

  • 1/4 head cabbage, sheredded

  • 4 fillets of flounder

  • 2/3 cup chicken broth

  • dash of paprika

Fish Oriental Preparation Method

Melt butter in sauce pan, add onion and sauté until soft.

Add ham garlic and sauté for 3 minutes.  Add bean sprouts and sauté for about 3 or 4 minutes until lightly browned.  Place fillet in small casserole.  Add uncooked cabbage to bean sprout mixture.  Spread over fillet.

Pour broth over fillet.  Sprinkle with paprika.  Cover dish with lid or aluminum foil and baked in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. 

Place under broiler about 4 inch from flames.  Cook for about 10 -12 minutes, basting carefully during latter part of cooking so herbs are not disturbed.  Turn steak and season as before.  Broil for 5  to 6 minutes.  Baste after herbs have "set" by heat.  Skin should get crisp.  Watch carefully.
