Beef Stroganoff


Beef Stroganoff (6 servings)

Ingredients for Beef Stroganoff

  • 3 medium onions, chopped

  • 1/2 pounds mushrooms, sliced

  • 1/4 pound butter

  • 1 1/2 pounds steak, cut into finger size strips

  • 1/8 tsp tarragon

  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt 

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1 tsp dry sherry

  • 1 bay leaves

  • chives

Preparation Method for Beef Stroganoff

  1. Sauté onions and mushroom in butter until soft and golden and remove to casserole.  Brown meat in remaining butter, but do not cook through.  Place browned beef in casserole with onions and mushrooms.
     

  2. To remaining juice in same pan, add tarragon, mustard, salt, 1 tablespoon sour cream, and sherry.  Mix well, and pour over beef, onions and mushrooms.  Stir all ingredients until well blended.  Bury bay leaf in beef, simmer over very low heat for 25 minutes.
     

  3. Remove bay leaf, add remaining sour cream, and mix well.  Garnish with chives.

Carbohydrate per serving for beef stroganoff : 4.5 gram
